Not many years have passed since when organic farming and
organic food were introduced to ordinary people. After decades of usage of
non–organic methods for food production it is finally realized to what extent
they are harmful to human health.
And since then only the need of the hour is to introduce the
world of organic farming to everyone who is concerned about his or her health.
I am Varun Venaik and I am researching organic
farming and the benefits of organic food for a quite considerable period of time.
And meanwhile, in my research, I have encountered so many amazing facts that I
want to share with you all.
Till now it is believed that organic food is very expensive
and only the elite section of society can have access to them. But in my
research, I have found that it's just one of the myths spread about organic
food.
The reality is rather surprising and interesting to know.
Keeping this in mind I have started this blog where I will be happy to share my
knowledge on organic farming and food with you all.
In this blog, I will not only talk about organic farming,
organic foods, and their benefits for humans but also numerous other aspects of
organic farming.
You all will be amazed to know that organic farming is not
beneficial for humans but also for the environment and helps in the bustling of
biodiversity.
Organic farming allows our environment to clean itself and
reduces several types of pollution such as water pollution, soil pollution
directly, and other sorts of pollution indirectly. As you know inorganic
farming uses pesticides and chemical fertilizers.
They are not only responsible for many kinds of cancers and
other diseases but majorly contribute to soil pollution and water pollution.
All this in turn affects our health even with a great magnitude.
Organic food nourishes us in a true sense without any side
effects on our health and environment. Now, how organic farming is good for our
environment. Well because it doesn't use any chemical fertilizers and
pesticides.
In this way, soil can replenish itself naturally, and it
will be free of any kind of pollution, preventing soil and groundwater from
pollutants. Organic farming also makes use of the animal waste produced on
farms and reduces the number of greenhouse gases in the environment.
Even through a sustainable approach to our environment we
can produce energy from organic farming and reduce the dependency on the
exhaustible resource of energy.
So now you can see to what extent organic farming is
beneficial not only for our health but also for our environment and it does
help in controlling climate change.
However, all these benefits are counterbalanced by the fact
that organic farming is expensive and relatively yields low production than
inorganic farming. That is one of the drawbacks of organic farming and organic
food.
But in my research what I have found was just indicating
something else. Yes, it’s true that organic farming yields low production but
then was without any deep research.
Now there are so many methods prescribed for organic farming
under which it is possible to grow organic food ample in quantity without
compromising on its quality.
These new methods are cost–efficient and do have a good
production rate which although a little bit less than inorganic farming but not
far too short.
What I have found in my research is that organic farming and
organic food are not a dream anymore and with appropriate methods and
technological advancements they are feasible.
Sounds interesting and happening, well that is what keeps me motivated for my research. To know more such interesting facts on organic farming stay tuned with me.
